A very distinguished lady was on a flight returning from Switzerland when she found herself seated next to a kindly-looking priest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She leaned over and said, \u201cExcuse me, Father, could I ask you a favor?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOf course, my child,\u201d he replied warmly. \u201cWhat can I do for you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The woman sighed. \u201cHere\u2019s the problem \u2014 I bought myself this new, sophisticated hair-removing gadget in Switzerland. I paid an enormous sum for it, and unfortunately I\u2019ve gone over the duty-free declaration limit. I\u2019m worried they\u2019ll confiscate it at customs. Would you be willing to hide it under your cassock?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The priest chuckled. \u201cI could do that, my child. But you must realize \u2014 I cannot tell a lie.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, Father,\u201d she smiled, \u201cyou have such an honest face. I\u2019m sure they\u2019ll never ask you anything.\u201d She slipped the small device into his hands, and he tucked it away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When they landed and reached customs, an officer looked at the priest and asked politely, \u201cFather, do you have anything to declare?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The priest smiled serenely. \u201cFrom the top of my head to my waist, I have nothing to declare.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The officer, slightly puzzled, asked, \u201cAnd from your waist down?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell,\u201d the priest replied, \u201cI have a marvelous little instrument designed for use on women, but which has never been used.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
