It was 2 in the morning when my phone started buzzing nonstop \u2014 18 missed calls from my daughter and a message that made my blood run cold:
\u201cDad, help! Come fast!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn\u2019t even think. I threw on my jacket, grabbed my keys, and drove like a madman through the empty streets. My heart was pounding \u2014 I was praying nothing had happened to her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I reached her house, she opened the door with her fianc\u00e9, both looking confused. \u201cDad, what\u2019s wrong?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I showed her the messages. Her face went pale. \u201cDad,\u201d she whispered, \u201cI never texted you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stood there frozen, my hands trembling. The messages were real \u2014 but they didn\u2019t come from her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trying to calm down, I apologized, said maybe it was a glitch, and started heading home. But halfway there, my phone buzzed again. Another message. Same number. Same tone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My blood ran cold. I pulled over immediately. My daughter called me seconds later \u2014 her voice shaking \u2014 saying she\u2019d just gotten a text too. The message read: \u201cHe shouldn\u2019t have come.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We called the police that night. They traced the messages back to a prepaid phone \u2014 untraceable, disconnected right after the last text was sent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
