A police officer was convinced he had discovered the perfect hiding spot for catching speeders \u2014 a sharp curve on the highway where no driver could possibly see him until the very last second. Every holiday weekend, he parked there with his radar gun ready, ticket pad open, already imagining how many violations he\u2019d write within the first hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Usually, it was easy money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But this Labor Day was different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thirty minutes passed \u2014 not a single car was speeding. Every driver rolled by exactly<\/em> at the speed limit. Some even waved politely as they passed, almost as if they already knew he was there. The officer narrowed his eyes. Something wasn\u2019t right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ten more minutes went by. Still nothing. My buddy is down the road collecting donations in a bucket.
