It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Danielle Spencer, beloved for her role as Dee Thomas on the iconic sitcom What’s Happening!!.

Born in 1965, Danielle began her acting career at the age of 7, quickly becoming a household name. She starred in 65 episodes of What’s Happening!!, portraying Dee Thomas, the spirited younger sister of Raj Thomas. Her performance resonated with audiences, and she later reprised her role in the sequel series What’s Happening Now!!.

After her acting career, Danielle pursued a new path in veterinary medicine, earning her degree and becoming a passionate advocate for animal welfare. She worked as a veterinarian for over two decades and later ran a pet-care segment for a local TV station.

Danielle’s passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her. She is survived by her mother, Cheryl, and her brother, jazz musician Jeremy Pelt. Her legacy lives on through her contributions to both the entertainment industry and the field of veterinary medicine.

A private funeral service was held, where friends, family, and colleagues gathered to honor her life and legacy. Danielle Spencer will be remembered not only for her memorable role on television but also for her compassion, dedication, and the positive impact she had on the lives of many.
