The Real Causes of Mucus in the Throat (And What Your Body Is Trying to Tell You)

That constant lump in your throat — like something’s stuck that just won’t go away — might not be what you think. Many people blame colds or allergies, but the truth is, excess mucus can have deeper causes your body is warning you about.

1. Postnasal Drip
