A surprising statement from Mexico’s president has ignited intense discussion on both sides of the border after she publicly addressed former U.S. President Donald Trump in a tone few expected. Mexico’s president, Claudia Sheinbaum, pushed back against narratives portraying Trump as inherently hostile toward Mexico or its people.
